The manager should be punished by having his business closed down permanently, for letting women, children, men and dogs live in these kinds of conditions. The ‘Oh well I am only the manager I have no idea what my tenants are doing’ argument doesn’t fly with me. If you own a business, or if you run a business, you are responsible for ALL aspects of that business.
Lear Theater will possibly move to Bicentennial Park

Lear Theater Group is looking to move the theater 100 feet over to Bicentennial Park, although this has not been approved by the city yet. The argument is it’s much easier to sell a vacant lot than a lot with a historical building on it. Duh! However, Fernando Leal of Montage/L3 Development feels their pricing is a bit high and hopes they pull it off, but has doubts with the aggressive pricing.
Crane Being Used to lift new Unit on top of AT&T Building

Well I figured it was too good to be true, that’s why I held off in any bursts of excitement…..that crane is being used today to lift a new unit on top of the AT&T building.

This has been one of the most exciting City processes that I have participated in. It’s exciting to have a voice and say about your neighborhood, and then to see that people actually listened to your ideas. The City of Reno staff has posted details of this master plan, including proposed zoning, design guidelines and regulations, and a working draft. Look under ‘Third Meeting’. Thanks, Jessica, for making this happen and seeing the potential of this neighborhood! You are one kick ass councilwoman.
Grant’s Landing Just About Ready for Vertical Construction

After weeks and weeks of serious prep work, it looks like Grant’s Landing is just about ready to start vertical construction. There are well-defined dirt roads where I think the real streets will be, and along the river are perfectly graded dirt slabs.
